HBO Now was announced as a timed exclusive release for Apple TV earlier this year, and the wait for its release is now over. TechCrunch has reported HBO Now has launched on Apple TV, as well as iPhone and iPad devices.
Unlike HBO Go, which is available at no additional cost for existing HBO subscribers through participating television providers, HBO Now is a standalone experience, offering more than 2,000 titles (past and present) at $14.99 a month.
The HBO Now app lets users instantly stream hit shows like Game of Thrones, as well as recent films (for instance, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Godzilla hit the service this month). New users receive a 30-day free trial upon downloading the app, after activating their account through iTunes.
Within the app, users can browse featured titles, search for specific content, or browse curated lists, including one for family-friendly content.
